Kayla Seabolt's musical journey started in her formative years, when she discovered the joy of chorus singing in elementary school. This initial exposure to collaborative music ignited a lifelong passion that she has diligently nurtured. As she progressed through her academic years, Kayla honed her vocal skills and mastered guitar, ukulele, and piano . Her dedication to music led her to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where she was able to fully explore her musical talents and earned a BA in Music with a concentration in Voice.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Kayla's musical career has been her ability to ignite a love for music in a diverse range of students. In her recent role at a local elementary school, she was instrumental in significantly boosting student participation in the music program. Her joy in sharing music with her pre-K through 5th-grade students is palpable. Her work with SPARC (School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community) during her college years, including performing in their end-of-year showcases, remains a cherished memory.
Kayla's teaching philosophy centers on fostering a lifelong love and appreciation for music. She aims to instill confidence in her students, ensuring they leave with the skills and passion to continue their musical journey independently. She achieves this by building strong relationships with her students and creating a supportive and safe learning environment where they can confidently practice and learn from their mistakes.
Kayla enjoys empowering her students to explore their musical creativity and share their unique voices with the world. Whether working with beginners or advanced musicians, her expertise and genuine passion for music education make her a sought-after music educator.
