Guitar, Bass

Greg began playing the guitar at age 13. Inspired by the many of the alternative rocks bands of the early 90’s, he practiced tirelessly to emulate his favorite players. Through high school, he formed his own band while continuing to take music lessons which focused on theory, scales, and chords. He began writing his own music by age 15, winning two local battle of the bands in his home town of Pittsburgh, PA.

Greg attended Wheeling Jesuit University as a communications major, focusing on public speaking and audio/video production. He also continued to front a new band that won the campus battle of the bands four years in a row, which allowed him to open for national recording acts, Bubba Sparrx and Evan & Jaron. He also won a singing scholarship after being recognized in a local musical production of Oliver during his sophomore year.

In 2005, Greg began teaching guitar locally in college and expanded teaching students ranging from ages 8 – 48 after college graduation. He also fronted a new band that opened for national recording act Seven Mary Three while touring regionally between New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore.

Greg employs a similar teaching philosophy that was taught to him. This is a combination of sight reading, understanding music theory, and learning popular music that the student enjoys. This combination provides a solid overall musical foundation and helps the student become better-rounded as a player. He also offers students advice on equipment, joining bands, and recording based on his experiences.
