Barbara's Musical Journey
Barbara is a dynamic and accomplished music educator with extensive experience as a children's music director and organist. She started out on the piano at age seven, inspired by the musicians she saw on TV. She continued learning and growing as a pianist throughout her childhood and into adulthood, when she studied classically at The College of William and Mary and Shenandoah Conservatory of Music.
In 1990, Barbara began teaching music to children at her church, which led to the expansion of her role as an educator and musical leader. She now has a proven track record of mentoring young artists and significantly enhancing their musical knowledge. Her influence fosters a deep love for music among students. Barbara excels in producing engaging performances, directing choirs, and accompanying students, contributing to their growth and musical excellence.
As a children's music director and organist, Barbara has provided music education for students from Pre-K through their teenage years. She has directed numerous live performances, helping students gain confidence and experience in front of large audiences. Barbara has provided musical accompaniment on the piano, offering support and guidance during rehearsals and performances. Notably, she actively researches current popular music trends to incorporate relevant and engaging material into her instruction. Barbara's passion for nurturing musical talent is matched only by her dedication to her students.
